Synopsis: Galen is the prince of the Syrena, sent to land to find a girl he's heard can communicate with fish. Emma is on vacation at the beach. When she runs into Galen—literally, ouch!—both teens sense a connection. But it will take several encounters, including a deadly one with a shark, for Galen to be convinced of Emma's gifts. Now, if he can only convince Emma that she holds the key to his kingdom...
Told from both Emma and Galen's points of view, here is a fish-out-of-water story that sparkles with intrigue, humor, and waves of romance.
Why?: I recently got a signed copy of Of Triton from Fierce Reads. I had Of Poseidon on my TBR list, so that prompted me to finally buy the kindle version of it. Mermaids have been popular in YA recently, but I haven't read many of them so I'm excited to see how the mermaid mythology will go.
Expectations: I'm expecting a fun romance with mermaids and adventure. The story is from two points of view so I am expecting the girl protagonist's chapters to be more romance and angst while the male protagonist's chapters will really develop the world building. Mermaids!
Judging a book by its cover: This cover is ethereal and simple, but it looks like a lot of other books that are out there right now.
