Why?: Pantomime was absolutely fantastic. I loved the world building, the characters, the circus... and then it ended in such a way that I just HAD to get my hands on Shadowplay ASAP. And now, there's magic, new characters, and a whole new part of the world? Sign me up!
Expectations: Since I loved Pantomime so much, I have pretty high expectations for Shadowplay. I expect more world building and character development, and I expect to get sucked into this story quickly and completely.
Judging a book by its cover: Can I just say how much I love this cover? I love that it matches the first cover, I love how Cyan has the markings painted on her face, I love that there are cards and it looks like she's performing a magic trick... I would definitely pick this book up if I saw it on a shelf somewhere!
