Title: Take Back the Skies
Author: Lucy Saxon
Publication Date: June 3, 2014

Synopsis:
Catherine Hunter is the daughter of a senior government official on the island of Anglya. She’s one of the privileged – she has luxurious clothes, plenty to eat, and is protected from the Collections which have ravaged families throughout the land. But Catherine longs to escape the confines of her life, before her dad can marry her off to a government brat and trap her forever.

So Catherine becomes Cat, pretends to be a kid escaping the Collections, and stows away on the skyship Stormdancer. As they leave Anglya behind and brave the storms that fill the skies around the islands of Tellus, Cat’s world becomes more turbulent than she could ever have imagined, and dangerous secrets unravel her old life once and for all . . .

Why?: I've heard this book called She's the Man meets Firefly and since I love both of those, I knew I had to get my hands on a copy of Take Back the Skies ASAP! I've also heard other really good things about this book, and the synopsis just sounds like my kind of book.

Expectations: I have kind of high expectations about this book since I've heard good things about it, but I'm not really sure what to expect other than that. This is Lucy Saxon's debut, so I've never read anything from her. I hope it's an engaging story with lots of action and adventure and space things.

Judging a book by its cover: I really love all of the colors on this cover. The purple and the blue go really well together and remind me of the sky and space. I also like that there are so many images in the background - a flying ship, gears, lightning... I can't wait to find out how all of them are significant to the story! I would be really likely to pick this book up off of a shelf based on the cover alone.
